This article shows the research results about a French language teaching course; the purpose of this research was to verify if the usage of educational videos, as a tool for French teaching, promotes the acquisition of the oral comprehension skill and supports the students, therefore they can develop a self-confident attitude. The research was conducted during a French course in the Tecamac Tecnological University in Mexico, from January to March 2011, where the students had access to educational videos during 4 weeks; the videos were in Moodle platform used as a depository of contents and resources. The language level was A1 based on the European Framework for languages. During the research a quantitative approach of an experimental type was used with a simple random sample, based on the pre-test and post-test design method and control group. Results show that the usage of educational videos during French classes are an educational and instructional tool which allows students to obtain the necessary practice on the oral comprehension skill and therefore acquire assertiveness for their communicative interpersonal approach.
