Mexican Public Universities are facing the challenge of incorporating ICT as a valuable resource in the whole process of development of skills, knowledge and competencies in students. So, we present the results of a study whose purpose was to compare students' competencies levels of ICT from Chihuahua Public University and Veracruzana Public University. The selection criteria of the sample were to take the Computer Systems Degree. This study was quantitative and exploratory. It was reached a sample of 240 students at both universities (134 students of Veracruzana University and 106 students of Chihuahua University). Both universities used the same quantitative instrument. The analysis of the results was done by a quantitative processing (percentajes, frequencies, means, Chi square). Results show that students trust their competency in ICTs to interact in ICT-mediated environment. In addition, no significant gender difference was found in competencies levels of ICT in both universities.References
