Keywords:
distance education, social service, higher education, digital competenciesAbstract
The article is an attempt to expose the current function of social service and some problems that students have when they begin it in Higher Education, in the specific case at Universidad del Valle de México, where one of the pillars of its educational model is learning to undertake, it is pertinent to review the possibilities to include this practice (social service) in the curriculum throughout Distance Education with virtual learning environments as a medium to register the work experiences that students acquire and release them from the constraints of time and space, and providing opportunities for individual and group learning. Teachers would be tutors to accompany projects designed to indict the student participation. We agree that Distance Education fosters useful skills for them (to the students) for professional practice, it is recognized that the knowledge is obtained in context and linked with the private and public sectors. Finally, we present some proposals about it.References
