We reviewed literature regarding the use of internet in the teaching and learning processes, as well as innovative strategies and educational model, including the development of digital competencies and learning environments. The study was conducted from a quantitative perspective and the information was collected through surveys. The results reveal that the Moodle platform is a useful resource to classroom-based education, and the students are familiar with their use because of their previous experience with digital tools.
