The study aimed to evaluate the impact of GeoGebra on the learning of linear functions among first-year secondary school students in a semi-rural context in the State of Mexico. A quantitative, quasi-experimental approach was adopted, using a four-group Solomon design with correlational and longitudinal scope. The sample consisted of 120 students, evenly distributed into two treatment groups and two control groups. The intervention comprised five instructional sessions supported by GeoGebra, while the control groups followed a traditional teaching methodology. Data were collected through validated questionnaires and observation checklists and analyzed using ANOVA, Tukey’s post hoc test, and Student’s t test. The results revealed statistically significant differences in favor of the groups that used GeoGebra, as well as increased student motivation and participation. It is concluded that GeoGebra is an effective instructional resource for enhancing the conceptual understanding of linear functions, provided that adequate technological access and appropriate teacher mediation are ensuredReferences
