The objective of this study was to implement Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR) as a formative strategy to strengthen socio-emotional skills (SES) in students at High School 19 of the University of Guadalajara. Using a mixed methods design with a parallel convergent approach and descriptive scope, several IVR programs were applied to foster SES development, based on the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework. The intervention was conducted with 51 students from the Bachillerato General por Competencias, who completed a Likert-type questionnaire at two points in time (pretest and posttest), complemented by field notes aimed at capturing qualitative indicators of emotional and behavioral responses. The results showed that IVR significantly enhanced the recognition and strengthening of SES, with notable improvements in social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Among the limitations, it is noted that, as a quasi-experimental design applied in a single institution, the generalization of findings is limited. Nevertheless, the study provides empirical evidence of the potential of IVR in upper secondary education, demonstrating its capacity to transform learning environments and address the socio-emotional needs of studentsReferences
